In this session, pupils learn how to study portraits.

As they explore the galleries, looking at a number of the paintings in our Collection, they consider the reasons why they were painted and think about how portraits were used to communicate key ideas about the sitter.

Pupils have the opportunity to create their own self-portraits using a range of techniques including chalk and watercolour.
