Creative health uses culture, creativity, and heritage to help people live healthier, happier lives.
Cultural experiences enhance quality of life, supporting both mental and physical wellbeing.
Our Creative Health service has been developed to offer a range of activities designed to improve wellbeing and promote a strong sense of place.
We partner with a number of community groups and charitable organisations to support a range of people's needs. Cultural experiences can help improve health and wellbeing and can result in benefits that range from the physiological to the emotional.
From groups for people who are lonely through to outreach sessions in the community, there is something for everybody!
Examples of our Groups
Take Some Time
We run a group for people who feel socially isolated called ‘Take Some Time’. The sessions give you the chance to slow down and engage with objects from our collection. The sessions feature discussion and creativity based on a range of objects and also has lots of time for connecting with others.
Monthly group for BLIND AND PARTIALLY SIGHTED ADULTS
Blind & partially sighted adults are invited to explore our collections through touch, sound, and imagination.
These sessions last for 2 hours and are held in The Artist Residency Studio at the Amelia Scott.
They will be run monthly on the last Friday of the month between 10:30 – 12:30.
