Pupils consider the effects of the environment on animal adaptations.

They search for clues that might provide evidence of evolution, including hunting down our peppered moths – the insect used as evidence to support Darwin's theory. Children explore a range of fossils, skulls and taxidermy in order to support their learning of the process of evolution. Before taking part in an interactive decision-making game to find out if they can help an animal adapt to survive.

The session concludes with a self-led trail around the galleries.
