In this lively session, pupils discover how and why our town came into existence.

Using artefacts to piece together its story from forest, to popular health resort, to holiday destination for a princess, pupils will also find out why children from the East End of London would spend their summer holidays here 100 years ago!  

The session concludes with a self-led trail around the galleries which the class can use to retell the story back at school!
